Microsoft has announced the End of Support for Windows XP and End of Life for Windows Server 2003.
Many AltiGen Max and Office series servers are running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. While these servers have provided years of uninterrupted service for our customers Microsoft announced End of Support for Windows XP in April 2014 with End of Life for Windows 2003 coming in July 2015.
What does this mean for AltiGen customers still running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 systems?
According to Microsoft, the potential business implications include:
- Security Risks: Without critical security updates, your PC may become vulnerable to harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software which can steal or damage your business data.
- Downtime: The risks of system failure and business disruption could increase because of the end of support, lack of supported software, and the increasing age of hardware running Windows XP.
- Reduced Compatibility: Many software and hardware vendors will no longer support products that are running on Windows XP as they are unable to get the Windows XP updates to fix issues.
With Windows Server 2003 End of Life date rapidly approaching, Windows Server 2003 users will soon be facing the same security and support issues. |
